Summer is for making memories. Gig is how you get there. And what better place for some sun-filled fun than the beach? The Bay Area and Seattle have excellent spots we have listed below that you can't miss these next few months.

Seattle

Alki Beach
Once an amusement park, this 2.5-mile area in West Seattle has been attracting visitors for over 100 years. Put your beach blanket on the sand or enjoy a walk on the trails.

Golden Gardens Beach
In the Ballard neighborhood, this location features swimming access, a boat dock, beach volleyball courts, hiking trails, and an off-leash area for your pup (dogs are not allowed on the beach).

Discovery Park Beach
Within the largest city park in Seattle is this 500+ acre natural area overlooking Puget Sound. The park includes two beach areas and more than 11 miles of walking trails.

Mt. Baker Beach
On the shores of Lake Washington, this location is perfect for a family outing. It offers several outdoor activities and a playground for the kids. The beach also features diving boards and a fishing pier.

SF Bay Area

Crissy Field Beach
Once a 1920s airfield, this area in the Presidio offers a wide array of recreational activities today. Catch amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge with access to the tidal marsh and beach along the bay shore.

Baker Beach
Though swimming is not recommended due to unsafe currents, you will be treated to a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge! This mile-long beach has a picnic area with tables, grills, and restrooms.

Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach
Along the southern side of the main island of Alameda, relish in the view of San Francisco at this spot. Crab Cove, on the western side of the beach, features a visitor center and aquarium, great for all ages!

Albany Beach
Located on the Albany shoreline, this location can get windy in the afternoons. The water is great for kayaking, stand-up paddling, and kiteboarding (depending on the wind and your level of experience).
