SF Bay Area
Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve
Celebrate California Poppy Day on April 6 at one of the best places on the peninsula for wildflowers, especially the California state flower, the golden poppy. Come see the magnificent displays in full bloom for yourself!
Mount Diablo State Park
From the variety of hiking trails here, you’ll see a mix of wildflowers such as blue skullcap, bush lupine, monkey flowers, globe lilies, California poppies, wallflowers, and more.
North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve
This area was formed by ancient lava flows, storing the water from rain in its porous rock. This results in blankets of flowers to view, especially after a strong rain season as we've had in 2023.
Jepson Prairie Preserve
This is one of California's few remaining native bunchgrass prairies. Here you will find more than 400 species of plants that paint the landscape in ribbons of white, purple, and yellow.
Seattle
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival
An annual must-see, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival runs throughout the month of April. Head up to the farm fields north of Seattle to enjoy the millions of blooming tulips.
Catherine Creek
This is one of Columbia River Gorge's best wildflower spots. More than 90 varieties of wildflowers bloom here during springtime. See all the beauty on the Catherine Creek Interpretive Trail.
Cowiche Canyon Conservancy
This treasured area in Yakima consists of 5,000 acres of land and more than 30 miles of trails. The landscape is made up of sagebrush and grasslands, flowering meadows, oak woodlands, and more.
Des Moines Creek Trail
Enjoy the trails of the peaceful Des Moines Creek Park. Throughout the park grounds, you’ll spot seasonal flowers and garden waterfalls.
