Planning a Road Trip? Read This!

According to USA Today, six in 10 Americans are planning at least one trip this summer.

Road tripping is a wonderful way to travel with family and friends while seeing the country. Singing along to tunes, exploring out-of-the-way attractions, and finding hole-in-the-wall diners are all part of the fun! And, if gas prices are causing you pause, remember, Gig covers the cost of gas and insurance. So, get your bags packed because we’re hitting the road!

Road Trip Preparation Checklist

✅  Bring your Gig Card. If you’ve grabbed a Gig for your trip and you wander far from cell service (or if your phone dies), you've got another back-up to assist locking and unlocking your Gig.

✅  Plan ahead when it comes to accommodations. Rental properties and hotels get booked out far in advance during the busy travel seasons.

✅  Juice it up before you go. Head to the gas station or EV charging charger before you start out.  Remember that if you grab a Gig, we cover gas (submit your receipt here).

✅  Stay hydrated and bring snacks. Bring plenty of water for everyone traveling!

✅  Stop periodically for breaks. Stretch your legs and take bio-breaks. Make note of gas stations and rest stops along your way before you head out.

✅  Stay alert. If your eyes are tired or you are feeling sleepy, stop when it is safe to do so and rest.

✅ Bring masks and disinfectant wipes. It’s best to have them handy and in-reach for easy access.

✅  Make a road trip playlist. Make sure you have tunes on your phone in case you find yourself in an area with spotty radio reception. Gotta keep the road trip vibe going!
