MLK2023 March
Honor the Selma to Montgomery, Alabama marches and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in this commemorative MLK 1.5-mile march/parade from the SF Caltrain Station to Yerba Buena Gardens. Try to arrive early if you can.

MLK Day of Service on the Richmond Greenway
Stop by to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy of serving others by working in the community and improving the Richmond Greenway Trail. Service projects will including beautifying the trail and a memorial for Dr. King.

Uhuru MLK Day Event & Volunteer Project

MLK Celebration: Beyond Race, Beyond Class, Beyond Nation
The 26th annual installment will feature performances by New Style Motherlode Entertainment and Oaktown Jazz Workshop. Also hear from a panel of speakers including Dr. Clayborne Carson, the Founding Director of Stanford's King Research & Education Institute.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Event
Join Hayward community leaders for this annual tribute to Dr. King. This year's celebration will include the Bret Harte Middle School Slam Poets, Hayward High Jazz Band, and Mt. Eden High School Combined Choir.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at NAAM: All, Here, and Now
The Northwest African American Museum is hosting a grand reopening on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Enjoy a day of music, movies, motivational social justice speakers, and activities for the entire family.

2023 MLK March and Rally
Join the Seattle MLK Day Coalition for an indoor rally at Garfield High School, followed by a march together as a community to show that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream is alive and well.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemoration
Theatre performances at the History Museum will bring to life Dr. King's legacy. Tacoma Arts Live will present 11 Days in the Life of Dr. King at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This original production showcases the life and legacy of Dr. King through 11 vignettes featuring spoken word, dance, music, shadow play, and historic images. At 3:00 p.m., Living Voices will present The Right to Dream: Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, a story that looks at the struggle and sacrifice for Black civil rights through the eyes of a young African American activist.

The History Museum is open with free admission for MLK Day.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at Wilburton Hill Park
Alongside EarthCorps and the City of Bellevue, honor Dr. King with a Day of Service at Wilburton Hill Park, the largest upland park in the city. The park's trail is a major link in the Lake to Lake Trail and Greenway System, and its forest plays an important part in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Volunteers will contribute to the restoration of the park by removing invasive plants, planting native shrubs and trees, and re-surfacing the trail.

MLK Day of Service — Kingfisher Natural Area on Thornton Creek
Spend an exciting MLK Day morning in the woods. Volunteers will be hiking throughout the park on social trails, focusing on planting, including hauling mulch and water to plants. Some site preparation may be in store as well as potential invasive species removal.

Sacramento

March for the Dream
Put the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. into practice by walking and talking with others in the community for the purpose of building authentic bonds of value and understanding. The march will officially begin in the Sacramento City College parking lot, between the college and Hughes Stadium.

2023 MLK Day of Service and Celebration
The UC Davis School of Law will host the 4th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Celebration. King Hall's Black Law Student Association along with the 2023 MLK Day Working Group have planned a dynamic event to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King. Among activities will be a donation drive, blood drive, speakers, workshops, and more.

Dream Songs Musical Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Come enjoy an award-winning cast of performers as they dress the part and perform amazing scenes and songs from legendary Black theatre and movies. In honor of MLK Day, this exciting musical will also feature a special Mahaila Jackson tribute performance of "Precious Lord," which was among Dr. King's favorite songs.
